I use a range of mediums in my pet portraits: pastel, graphite and charcoal on paper, and acrylic paint on canvas. This portrait of one of my own dogs is acrylic on canvas. There is plenty of choice when deciding on your pet portrait - hopefully there's something to suit everyone.

You can choose to have your pet portrait in graphite (pencil), or charcoal if you like the classic black and white look. If you prefer colour, you can choose pastel. All of these are drawn on paper, so will need to be framed behind glass.
An alternative colour option is to choose acrylic paint on canvas. You will find examples of each of these options in the choose medium and style section.

The white German Shepherd here is drawn with pastels. You can choose to allow the paper to form the background colour (as here) or you can opt for the background to be coloured (as in the cat image above). See other options in the choose medium and style section.
